World Population

World population is the total number of humans on the planet Earth. The population has experienced continuous growth since the middle of the 14th century. The rate of growth peaked in the 1950s. Current projections show a continued increase in population total at a lesser growth rate. The state of the world’s population can to some extent be measured by demographic indicators such as distribution, structure, growth, urbanization, movement, life expectancy and the associated cause and effects of these indicators.
