Maptitude show aptitude for Collins Bartholomew data

Caliper Corporation (www.caliper.com), the leading US-based GIS and transportation software specialist is now selling its high end GIS package Maptitude in the UK (www.maptitude.co.uk), bundled with three data sets from digital mapping specialist Collins Bartholomew (www.Collins Bartholomewmaps.com). Maptitude is an easy-to-use and feature rich GIS package which has the functionality of more expensive software and can support the full range of popular data and GI formats.

We are extremely pleased that they have opted to sell our UK, London and Postcode data as part of the Maptitude product in the UK and look forward to further developing this relationship.”

Maptitude is priced at £400 and includes Collins Bartholomew 1:200,000 coverage of the UK, 1:20,000 street level coverage of London and national postal boundaries down to Postcode sector, all in a vector format. Amongst its many features, the software allows users to edit topological features, fully customise map styles and labels, interface with GPS data, directly open Oracle, ESRI or MapInfo files, import from other packages such as OS NTF and AutoCAD, utilise relational database capabilities, create geocodable indexes, and display imagery (including TIFF, GeoTIFF, ECW, and MrSID files). These data sets can then be analysed to create districts or bands, aggregate or disaggregate, define optimum routes, generate contours, create a range of thematic maps, and create areas of influence, for example. The product is squarely aimed at any organisation that needs to manage GI, from large companies through public agencies to smaller enterprises.
